Paviljoni päevad Veneetsias

Veneetsia arhitektuuribiennaali Eesti väljapanek „Las ma soojendan sind“ osaleb 9. ja 10. oktoobril Veneetsias toimuvatel paviljoni päevadel.

9. ja 10. oktoobril leivad Veneetsias aset paviljoni päevad, mille raames saab osaleda mitmetel tuuridel, kus tutvustatakse paviljone kuraatorite poolt. Samuti on võimalus osaleda Eesti väljapanekut tutvustavatel kuraatortuuridel.

Eestit esindab kuraator Elina Liiva.

Keiti Lige, Helena Männa ja Elina Liiva kureeritud väljapanek “Las ma soojendan sind“ keskendub renoveerimise maailma paradoksidele. Näituselahendus toob välja konflikti suurte üle-Euroopaliste eesmärkide ning elanike argimurede vahel. Projekti keskmes on küsimus, kas kliimaeesmärkidest ajendatud renoveerimislaine on vaid energiaklassi tõstmiseks või saaks selle käigus tõsta ka elamupiirkondade ruumilist ja sotsiaalset kvaliteeti. Selle küsimuse illustreerimiseks on renoveeritud osa Veneetsia palazzeto fassaadist Eestiski kasutusel olevate soojustuspaneelidega. Sama hoone esimesel korrusel paiknev näitus ja selle keskmes olev makett kirjeldavad osapoolte vahelisi suhtedünaamikaid ning nende mõju renoveerimisotsustele.

PAVILION DAYS

Thursday, 9th and Friday, 10th October 2025

Planned as a moment to share ideas and concepts behind the national exhibitions, the Pavilion Days aim to strengthen the international architecture network. The Pavilion Days are an initiative of the Global Commissioners Group, in which various national pavilions actively participate.

THURSDAY 9th OCTOBER

10:30/14:00 Guided Tours (Giardini or Arsenale + city) – On Thursday and Friday, tours will be offered to various national pavilions at the Giardini and Arsenale/city. They allow personal encounters with the curators, artists and organizers/commissioners of the various pavilions. Information and MANDATORY REGISTRATION (information coming up).

What is the role of architecture in times of polycrisis? How and why does the immediate inspire us to work through care and hospitality for those who face global vulnerabilities? The French and Qatar Pavilion, and the Art Mill Museum jointly present Architecture in the Immediate, a conference that addresses contemporary issues architects face today.

10:00 – 18:00: Performance Ecotongues by Gaia Ginevra Giorgi (author, sound artist and performer). Organized by Luxembourg Pavilion. Venue: Luxembourg Pavilion, Sale d’Armi, Arsenale. No registration required.

As part of the Luxembourg Pavilion’s programming, Italian artist Gaia Ginevra Giorgi will present Ecotongues. Developed during a three-day residency (7–9 October) and culminating in a day-long public performance on 10 October, Ecotongues explores mediumship as a threshold between the visible and invisible, the audible and inaudible, opening a space of interspecific intimacy between human and more-than-human entities.  

10:00 – 18:00: Conference “Landscape Walk & Talk”. Organized by German Pavilion. Location: German Pavilion, Giardini. No registration required.

The “Walk & Talk” conference was planned in close cooperation with the Association of German Landscape Architects (bdla) as an open forum for exchange among landscape architects and other planners represented in the German Pavilion exhibition. The conference, aims to foster even greater exchange and sharpen our positions on various aspects of climate change and climate stress through two walks and two talks.
The conference will begin with a guided tour of the German Pavilion and an independent exploration of the Giardiniera Gardens, as well as a book presentation by author Alex Pisha, who published a highly acclaimed new edition of her book “Parks of the 21st Century: Reinvented Landscapes, Reclaimed Territories” with Victoria Newhouse earlier this year. Two talks moderated by Antje Backhaus (bdla) and Olympia Tomczyk (representing the young landscape architects) will follow in the afternoon.

11:00 – 17:30 ASSEMBLY #9: ECOLOGIES OF BETTER LIVING. Organized by Austria Pavilion. Further information: Program — Agency for Better Living. Venue: Austria Pavilion, Giardini. No registration required.

11:00: Environment, Patrimony and Mass Tourism: Encounter with Forum Territoriale Parco delle Energie (Rome) and Sarah Gainsforth (Rome).

15:30 – 17.30 OPEN ASSEMBLY
Guests: Forum Territoriale Parco delle energie (Rome), Sarah Gainsforth (Rome), Lina Streeruwitz (Studio VlayStreeruwitz, Vienna), Maurizio Veloccia (Assessor of Urban Planning, Rome).   

A program of workshops, presentations, and excursions will take place in the Austrian pavilion between June and October. The events will use an ASSEMBLY format. The “Space of Negotiation” in the courtyard of the pavilion offers a platform with an open center. People sit together without hierarchy in a circle-like form. The conditions for a future BETTER LIVING will be discussed and negotiated by invited architects, administrators, researchers, politicians, planners, activists, and social groups, together with visitors to the Biennale. Short statements by experts will be followed by moderated open talks. The essence of the talks will be documented through different media.

18:30 – 20:00: Booklaunch “Lisbeth Sachs – Architecture for Life” round table with author of the book, architecture and art historian Rahel Hartmann Schweizer, architect and historian Irina Davidovici and cultural anthropologist Michael Hiltbrunner, followed by an apéro. Organized by Swiss Pavilion. Venue: Palazzo Trevisan degli Ulivi, Campo S. Agnese, Venice (vaporetto stops: Zattere or Accademia). No registration required.

Accompanying the exhibition at the Swiss Pavilion, Lisbeth Sachs: Animate Architecture has been published by gta Verlag Zurich. This work is the English translation of Lisbeth Sachs: Architektin, Forscherin, Publizistin. (published 2020) by Rahel Hartmann Schweizer and includes a new foreword by Annexe.
