Kirjeldus
The dome-shaped Enguri Dam is surrounded by the impressive Caucasus Mountains and measures 271.5 metres in height and 728 metres in length. The dam is regarded as one of the world’s largest concrete arch dams and one of the world’s most ambitious pieces of structural engineering. The aim of the new tourist infrastructure is to transform the Enguri Dam site into the high-class world level attraction, for it to become the source of recognition, entertainment and education throughout the year, contributing the increase of the touristic potential of the region. It would be the first industrial monument in Georgia with a museum and media centre.Enguri provides a mystical and powerful scenery to events. The dam itself will serve as an excessive screen for video- mapping during music festivals and laser-shows. New infrastructure include a Discovery and Visitor Center and several viewing platforms. A cable car connects the Visitor Center with the foot of the dam. Extraordinary views can be enjoyed from the panorama lift outside of the dam wall. Visitors in search for the extra adventure will test their limits on the zip line, wakeboard or during bungee jumping.
