Dear Madam / Sir,

It is estimated that the world’s urban poulation will double in 38 years. Living steel is organising  a second international architectural competition which is to be held in 2007 to search for effective, affordable urban housing solutions. The competition is approved by UIA and has a prestigious jury including Glenn Murcutt and Charles Correa. LivingSteel was founded to stimulate innovation in the design and consruction of housing to address the global challenge of increasing urbanisation. LivingSteel is managed by the International Iron and Steel Institute.

I sincerely believe that the baltic experience from recent years in dealing with this kind of challenges could now come to good use. For the individual offices that succeed in the competition it will be a great possibility. This is why I ask for your help in informing your members about the competition. If you have an email list or a newsletter, a small mention about the competition now could make an enormous difference in the future. The expressions of interrest are due January the 12th.
