Kirjeldus
Three houses with 30 barrier-free senior apartments and the integration of the protected ancient post building are erected on the drawn-out plot behind the former Old Post in Krieglach. The former tavern was adapted for occupants, whereas the westwing is to be integrated into the senior residency. The new houses are oriented like the existing north-south- structure of the neighbouring development. The apartment buildings have large balconies, glazed bay windows and a light stucco façade.Additionally to optimised floorplans for elderly citizens, that are partially limited in their freedom of movement, generous common facilities were created such as a multifunctional common room and sunny, glazed corner lounges in the lob- bies. The former tavern Old Post is known to be the oldest buil- ding in Krieglach and therefore represents historic, aesthe- tic and commercial prominence. The present core of the building dates back to the 16th and 17th century. Until 1790 the tavern used to be a postal station along the important main and commercial road from Vienna to Trieste.
