New architectural solution sought for historical Narva fortress area
On 25 March, the Narva Museum Foundation and the Estonian Association of Architects announced an architecture competition to produce the best solution to the renovation of the buildings and grounds of Narva fortress. The main objective is to shape the area into a site with a modern museum, conference centre and venue for public events, capable of serving as a prestigious site on the national level as well as preserving and protecting the historical legacy of the region. The winning entries will be determined in July 2015.
Estonian Centre of Architecture is looking for a project to represent Estonia at the next international architecture exhibition in Venice in 2016. The first stage of the two-stage public international competition will close on 31 August 2015, with three proposals moving onto the second stage. The winner of the competition will be announced on 10 November 2015.
